In the 66 books of bible, we are given much information, ordained by God, so that we can learn about him and his plan for our life in the present and in the life to come. It is essential to our education. This is the essence of theology.
God's word is truly infinitely deep and a cursory reading will provide us some of the information, but we must study his word and meditate on it to truly begin to grasp just who God is and why he is worthy of all our worship and praise.
God himself reminds us of the importance of his word and the importance of taking the time to study his word.
